All proceeds support 8 Flags Playscapes’ new Egans Creek Redevelopment project and Nassau Humane Society. Tickets are on sale at Red Otter in Fernandina Beach and online at Eventbrite. Everybody come!
We are excited to announce that 8 Flags Playscapes has set into motion the redevelopment and enhancement of one of Fernandina Beach’s most underutilized park assets, Egans Creek Park. Following the overwhelming success of our work in the development of Pirate Playground, this private/public partnership between our organization and the City of Fernandina Beach will set a new precedent for the development of recreational facilities in our community.
A quarter-mile fitness trail with twelve exercise stations, a yoga garden, a fishing and birdwatching dock, and a kayak launch into Egans Creek will provide a wide array of activities to engage people of all interests, while maintaining our high standards for universal accessibility. Additionally, new restroom facilities, gazebos, and pavilion structures will provide the amenities necessary for the park to be functional as well as beautiful. Please check here regularly or visit our Facebook page, as more details will be released in the near future.
Drum roll, please! After successfully building Pirate Playground, 8 Flags Playscapes is ready to expand our vision. So, we’re adopting a new mission:
“8 Flags Playscapes, Inc. is dedicated to the enhancement of our community through the development of recreational environments that are universally accessible to all.”
To fulfill this mission, we have a new project under wraps that will be unveiled very soon! Stay tuned to our website to be among the first to know what it is.
Does your child want to know what it’s like to sit in a fire truck? This is your chance to make that dream come true! TOUCH A TRUCK is coming up on Saturday, October 18, 9 AM–2 PM.
Central Park on Atlantic Avenue will be filled with all kinds of cool vehicles for kids to touch and explore. Fire truck, food trucks, police car, fire-rescue vehicle, monster truck, golf carts, utility truck, school bus, construction trucks and more will be there, so make sure you are! If that’s not enough, there will be a bounce house, too!
There’s no admission to this event, but donations will be gratefully accepted to help fund Pirate Playground maintenance and upkeep.
