September 1, representatives of Cole Builders, the City of Fernandina Beach, Amelia Tree Conservancy, and 8 Flags Playscapes met on-site to confirm placement of Simmons Road Park features.
Below, 8 Flags Playscapes Vice-President Benjamin Morrison and City of Fernandina Beach Parks and Recreation Director Nan Voit inspect the construction site and the layout of the pavillion. A serene 1/4-mile nature trail was carefully threaded through the woods surrounding the planned pavillion and restrooms to preserve the tree canopy and understory.
